Wisdom of Humanity

4 years. 4 continents. 40 countries.

by Daniel Beaumont

Release Date: September 2019

What is the book about?

With its roots in Zen Buddhism, Wisdom of Humanity is the travel memoir of one man’s 4-year self-exploration journey across 40 countries in search of purpose and meaning in his own life through everyday people he meets along the way.

What started out as a simple journal of anecdotes, lessons and wisdom from the people Daniel met on his journey, turned into an enquiry into the human experience and a quest to transform his own life as he journeyed around the world.

What makes this story unique is the fact that Daniel didn’t seek wisdom from gurus, but instead ordinary people he encountered while hitchhiking and Couchsurfing his way across 4 continents.

From Mormons to ex-convicts to nudists, Daniel met and interviewed all kinds of different people, asking them questions about their lives, dreams as well as themes such as happiness, regret and fear, in what encouraged him to look inwards and make some big changes to his own life.

Wisdom of Humanity covers many journeys including:

•Life living in outback Australia, living and working at a grain farm.
•Hitchhiking and Couchsurfing 28,00km’s across North America and Europe.
•Motorbiking 3,500km across Asia.
•Pilgrimaging 900km across Spain on the Camino de Santiago.
